Peak Hill Quarry is one of Earth Commodities most productive and strategically located quarries.

Located on the northern outskirts of Rockhampton, just 8km from the Rockhampton CBD, the Peak Hill Quarry comprises 66.79 hectares. 26.16 hectares of the site has been zoned for Extractive Industry purposes.

In geological terms, the Peak Hill Quarry is situated in the Berserker Beds. The Beserker Beds have been described as “a complex unit of volcanics and volcaniclastic sediments with considerable variation of rock types, including rhyolitic lavas, rhyodacitic, dacitic and andesite tuffs, basic lavas and indurated volcanic derived sediments”.

The principal rock types present at the Peak Hill Quarry site include andesite, andesitic tuff, rhyodacitic tuff and diorite.

Recent investigations have determined that there is source rock quantity in excess of 3,500,000 tonnes to the extent of the extraction operation lease.
